  M1: Write about the structure of a Radio Programme on your chosen station. Talk about each part and bring in my own example. Use audio link examples Capital FM is a music station aimed towards older teens and younger adults of a mainstream audience as they stream trendy music that a mass audience would enjoy. They were founded in 1978 and there are many famous presenters at Capital such as Roman Kemp.  Capital follows a particular structure for their shows to maximize success. It begins with an introduction into the segment and will have talk followed by music and adverts and then repeat that cycle. They mainly play trendy music that is popular and viral on the internet as well as new hits. It is an effective structure as it makes the audience retain the content while also staying to listen to the adverts and all of their own content. P3: Multiplatform Distribution methods

DAB: Digital Audio broadcasting is a transmission that is made up of digital binary codes (ones and zeroes). It ensures radio stations can stream at better quality audio than FM or AM. The signal can be sent out multiple times therefore has a higher chance of being picked up. By 2006 , 500 million people had access to DAB radio coverage although by this time sales of receivers had only become popular in UK and Denmark however by 2006 there were approximately 1,000 DAB stations in operation worldwide. FM: Frequency modulation uses frequencies ranging from 87.5MHz to 108MHz. This form of radio transmission has the capability of better sound than DAB but signal drop in and out is prone.  FM radio grew rapidly in the  1950s and 1960s , as FM sets became cheaper and more readily available. P2: Research and populate this post telling uses about the different types of programming, detailing their purpose, who they would be aimed at & how they can vary from other forms of programming In this post I will talk about how different radio stations choose different types of programmes to cater to a certain target audience, where I will discuss purposes, target audience and how they differ to other programming types. I will use my knowledge from Unit 1 (media products and audiences) and talk about conglomerates, commercial companies and synergy. I will also use my knowledge from Unit 2 (pre-production & planning) to research how different radio shows plan the content for their show such as a script for the host to follow . Music Radio Programmes Radio 1xtra Radio 1 and Capital are music radio programmes that's purpose are to entertain the audience. Radio 1 and Radio 1Xtra contain different content to achieve a different wider audience and increase brand identity.  BB

This is a report into the different types of radio stations, how they are distributed and funded and include facts and statistics to develop my knowledge and research. Public radio Public radio shows are any BBC radios such as Radio 1 & 2. They are funded by the general public pay through taxing and TV license, however BBC can include promotions on their stations and cannot offer cash prizes but instead have competitions and prizes related to their stations. BBC is a very popular radio station as BBC Radio 1 has had 8,145,000 listeners in the most recent quarter and their breakfast show is the most popular amongst 15-29 year olds.  BBC Radio 1 broadcast on many platforms including AM, FM and DAB.
